Acoustic ceiling tiles / panels

Acoustic ceiling tile panels — 60×60 cm modular mineral-wool, fibre, gypsum or wood-wool tiles. Wide NRC 0.55-0.95 absorption range.

TL;DR

Acoustic ceiling tiles are modular tiles in the standard 60×60 cm size that drop into a T-grid suspended ceiling. Mineral-wool, fibre, gypsum, wood-wool and cork variants offer a wide absorption range from NRC 0.55 to 0.95. They balance aesthetics, acoustics and fire performance for the application.

What is an acoustic ceiling tile?

An acoustic ceiling tile is a lightweight modular cassette that sits in the openings of a suspended-ceiling grid; high absorption and easy access are its key strengths. Standard size 60×60 cm; 60×120 cm long tiles are also used in some systems. Surfaces are perforated, porous or textured to absorb sound.

Tile types

  • Mineral-wool tile: highest absorption, A1 fire
  • Glass-wool tile: industrial, moisture-resistant
  • Soft fibre tile: warm look, acoustic + aesthetic
  • Perforated gypsum tile: hard surface, certified fire
  • Wood-wool (Heraklith) tile: natural aesthetic
  • Cork tile: light absorption + sustainable

Technical data

  • Size: 60×60 cm standard, 60×120 cm long
  • Thickness: 15 / 20 / 25 / 40 mm
  • Edge type: lay-in, tegular, board, vector
  • NRC: 0.55-0.95
  • Fire class: A1, A2-s1,d0 or BS 476 Class 0
  • Light reflectance (LR): 75-87% (lighting efficiency)

Which tile for which space?

  • Office and meeting: NRC 0.80+ mineral wool
  • Call centre: NRC 0.90+ thick mineral tile
  • Hospital / clinic: washable, antibacterial surface
  • School / classroom: NRC 0.75+ with high LR (≥85%)
  • Kitchen / industrial: metal-skin glass-wool fill
  • Restaurant / retail: decorative fibre or wood-wool

What does the edge type affect?

  • Lay-in: standard, grid stays visible
  • Tegular: tile drops below the grid, creates a shadow line
  • Board / vector: exposed look, grid disappears

How is it installed?

Tiles are placed by hand into the 60×60 cm openings of a pre-installed T-grid. Tegular tiles sit below the profile, vector tiles hide the profile entirely. Specific tile modifications are used for lighting, air diffusers and smoke detectors.
