Hotel / lobby / conference

Acoustic comfort across hotel lobbies, restaurants, conference halls and shared spaces. Critical for guest satisfaction and brand perception.

TL;DR

Hotel lobby and conference acoustics is integral to the premium hotel category because the ambient sound a guest hears on arrival shapes their perception of the brand. In high-ceilinged lobbies, restaurants, conference halls and event spaces, reverberation control, privacy and music quality are designed together.

Hotel acoustics — why is it brand-critical?

The ambient sound a guest hears entering the lobby is among the strongest first-impression cues for a hotel. A reverberant, scattered, noisy lobby drops the perception of professionalism. Well-tuned quiet conveys "this hotel pays attention to the details".

Hotel space types

  • Lobby (high-ceilinged, multi-use)
  • Restaurant (dining)
  • Conference / event hall
  • Spa, sauna, hammam (specialist acoustics)
  • Bar, lounge, night use
  • Meeting rooms
  • Children's play area
  • Sports / fitness gym

Lobby acoustics

High-ceilinged lobbies push RT60 above 1.5 s. Solution:

  • Suspended baffles / cloud panels (ideal for high ceilings)
  • Fabric-faced wall panels
  • Soft furniture and drapes
  • Acoustic carpet or rubber floor

Target RT60 0.8-1.0 s.

Conference hall acoustics

Hotel conference halls serve multiple uses: presentation, events, banquets, concerts. Variable acoustics (movable panel positions) are recommended. Target RT60 is variable: 0.8 s for speech, 1.2 s for music.

Restaurant and bar

For full detail see our Restaurant acoustics and Disco / bar acoustics pages.

Target performance (hotel average)

  • Lobby RT60: 0.8-1.0 s
  • Restaurant RT60: 0.7-0.9 s
  • Conference RT60: 0.8-1.2 s
  • Partition Rw: 50+ dB (room separation)
  • NC overall: 30-35

Guest-satisfaction effect

Acoustic comfort surveys consistently put a well-tuned sound environment among the leading drivers of "calm / luxury" lobby perception. Premium chains include acoustic design as a standard line item in their build budgets.

Time and cost

Existing hotel refurb 4-8 weeks. New-build hotel project, including design, 8-16 weeks. Investment scales with star category and guest profile.

Certification

Hospitality venues prefer EN 13501-1 fire-class, EN ISO 354 NRC-certified materials with antibacterial, sustainable surfaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hotel / lobby / conference — which materials do you use?
Depending on project requirements, we use acoustic foam, barrier-backed foam, lead/EPDM barrier, elastomeric rubber, rock wool and double-layer plasterboard systems. All our materials carry international fire-resistance certifications.
How much noise reduction do I get after the application?
It varies according to the existing structure, the adjacent noise level and the target use. Typical residential applications achieve 25-40 dB and industrial projects 35-55 dB. The exact value is confirmed by acoustic measurement.
Do I need to move my existing furniture?
It is enough to clear sufficient space so we can work in the application area. Our installation team takes protective measures for furniture; for small applications minimal rearrangement is sufficient.
How can I request a quote?
You can reach us by phone (+90 530 044 09 90), WhatsApp or our contact form. After a brief conversation we schedule an on-site survey.
