Nightclub / bar / disco acoustics

For nightclubs, bars and discos we deliver an integrated design that prevents high-level DJ and music sound from reaching neighbours and shapes the right interior acoustic.

TL;DR

Nightclub, bar and disco acoustics are designed so that high-level DJ and music sound does not pass to neighbouring buildings (Rw 65+ dB), the room acoustic does not spoil the DJ experience, and the project complies with environmental noise regulations. The standard build-up is independent double-leaf wall + bass traps + acoustic door + ventilation silencer.

Nightclub acoustics — why are they hard?

Nightclubs are among the toughest acoustic projects. Three difficulties combine:

  • High level: music at 100-115 dBA, sub-woofer at 50-60 Hz low frequency
  • Time constraint: environmental night-time limits are strict (45 dBA)
  • Building type: usually beneath flats or in tight urban spaces

Low frequency (bass) — the critical control

Sub-woofers produce high levels at 30-80 Hz. This band easily transmits via structural vibration; standard insulation is insufficient. Our field standard:

  • Independent double-leaf wall (50+ mm clear gap)
  • Bass traps (600 mm deep in corners)
  • Floating concrete screed
  • Vibroacoustically suspended ceiling

are mandatory in combination.

Environmental regulation

The Turkish Environmental Noise Regulation imposes specific limits on entertainment venues:

  • Night limit (22:00-07:00): 45 dBA
  • Low frequency (LFC): 35 dB(C)
  • Operation near residential areas requires municipal permission

Interior acoustic — the DJ experience

The room acoustic must support, not damage, the DJ experience and create the "filled-in" feeling on the dance floor. Target RT60 is 0.8-1.2 s depending on volume. Too dry kills the DJ feel; too reverberant turns the bass chaotic.

Build-up details

  1. Floating concrete screed (mandatory for sub-woofer control)
  2. Independent double-leaf stud wall
  3. 80+ mm rock wool fill in each leaf
  4. Double acoustic plasterboard + interlayer membrane
  5. Vibroacoustically suspended ceiling
  6. Acoustic door (Rw 42+ dB)
  7. Splitter silencer on supply/extract air
  8. Wide bass traps in corners

Target performance

  • Sound insulation Rw: 65-75 dB
  • Low frequency reduction: -30 dB (structural vibration)
  • RT60: 0.8-1.2 seconds
  • Noise at receiver: <45 dBA

Time and cost

A nightclub project takes 8-16 weeks. Investment is significant but is mandatory compared to the risk of fines and forced closure following complaints.

Field practice

Pre/post-build measurement, low-frequency (LFC) measurement and environmental measurement reports are standard on nightclub jobs. Before opening we prepare an acoustic report for building inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Disco / bar / nightclub — which materials do you use?
Depending on project requirements, we use acoustic foam, barrier-backed foam, lead/EPDM barrier, elastomeric rubber, rock wool and double-layer plasterboard systems. All our materials carry international fire-resistance certifications.
How much noise reduction do I get after the application?
It varies according to the existing structure, the adjacent noise level and the target use. Typical residential applications achieve 25-40 dB and industrial projects 35-55 dB. The exact value is confirmed by acoustic measurement.
Do I need to move my existing furniture?
It is enough to clear sufficient space so we can work in the application area. Our installation team takes protective measures for furniture; for small applications minimal rearrangement is sufficient.
How can I request a quote?
You can reach us by phone (+90 530 044 09 90), WhatsApp or our contact form. After a brief conversation we schedule an on-site survey.
